Dirty Laundry-Steven Stamkos

“Riley,” Steve called up the steps to his little sister, “Can you come down here for a second?”

Riley Downie rolled her eyes as she ended the call on her cell phone and slowly walked down the steps.

“Could you go any slower,” her brother barked.

“Shut the fuck up, Steve! What did you want me to do, fly down the fucking stairs?”

“That would have been nice,” Steve growled.

“You’re such an asshole!”

“Whatever, but please be home later. Stammer is coming to do his laundry and since he doesn’t have a key to the house, I told him you’d be home.”

“All of that money he makes and he doesn’t have his own washer and dryer, are you two homo or something?”

“Would you still have a crush on him if he was gay?”

“Really, Steve, really? We’re going to do this now!”

“I’m going on a date tonight, so just behave yourself.”

“Who’d you pay to go on a date with you? That girl must be desperate or completely insane if she’s going out with you.”

“You’re a total bitch, I have no idea how we’re related.”

“Yeah, well, like I said, you’re an asshole. You’re totally not my brother.”

Riley and Steve bared a striking resemblance to each other, both had dark brown hair and dark chocolate colored eyes. Riley moved in with Steve shortly after he was traded to Tampa from Philadelphia. Deep down, both siblings loved each other but had a funny way of showing it.

“Alright, well enough with this bullshit, I’m going to pick up Maria, I’ll be home later. Don’t wait up for me,” Steve said winking and Riley flipped him off.

She sat down on the couch and turned the TV on, she settled on some random movie that she had saw over and over again when there was a knocking at the door. Debating whether or not she should answer it to be a smartass since she knew it was Steven, she sighed before she stood up from the couch and opened the door.

“Hey Riley,” Steven said smiling, “How are you?”

“Fabulous,” Riley replied sarcastically as she opened the door all the way to let Steven in the house.

Steven laughed as he made his way in the house with his bag of laundry.

“Do you want something to drink?”

“I’ll take a bottle of water, if you have it but if not I’ll take a glass of water.”

Going into the kitchen, Riley fixed her hair in the shiny silver of the refrigerator and grabbed the lip gloss out of her purse on the counter and applied it to her lips. She grabbed the bottle of water and walked into the laundry room where Steven had gone.

“So, Steve has a date, eh?”

“I think he either paid the chick or she was desperate when he asked her out.”

Steven laughed as he took the water bottle from her hands, “I think he paid her.”

Riley giggled and jumped up on the dryer as Steven loaded his clothes in the washer, “How’s hockey?”

“Going good, I’m second in the scoring race. I was first but Crosby is tearing up the league right now and is either fifteen or sixteen points ahead of me.”

“You’ll catch up though in the goals department, you always do.”

“How’s high school?”

“It sucks, too much drama.”

“I remember that, I couldn’t wait to graduate.”

“I have a few more months then I graduate so I just ignore the bullshit that goes on.”

“Got any guy friends that I need to know about so I can help Steve kick their asses.”

“I wouldn’t touch a guy at my school with a ten foot pole. They’ve screwed every cheerleader and I think they all have some sort of STD.”

Riley took a minute to take a good look at what Steven was wearing, he was wearing a short sleeved black t-shirt with jeans and a baseball hat. She watched as his muscles flexed every time he loaded an article of clothing into the washer.

“I believe this belongs to you,” Steven said laughing as he tossed the zebra print bra at Riley.

“You bastard, I’ve been looking for this.”

“Found it in with my clothes but I didn’t want to give it to Steve to give back to you because that would be awkward.”

“Enough about my bra, so what about you, any girls that I need to scare off?”

“Nope, surprisingly.”

“A little cocky there, Mr. Stamkos, are we?”

Steven just laughed and Riley blushed when he reached up to grab the detergent off the shelf above the washer and she saw his abs.

“I know you have a crush on me and all, Riley, but could you make it less obvious when you check me out, please?”

“I was not checking you out and just for the record, I do not have a crush on you,” Riley lied and Steven rolled his eyes.

“Whatever you say, Riley, but Steve has told me all about your conversations with your friends about how you want to ‘Stammer my hammer.’”

Riley made a mental note to kill Steve when he came home and she jumped off the dryer. Suddenly feeling bold, she pinned Steven against the washer and pressed her lips to his.

After a hesitating for a couple of seconds, Steven wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her closer to him as he kissed her back. She licked his bottom lip for entrance and he let her as his tongue shot in her mouth first.

Everything seemed like a blur to Riley as Steven lifted her shirt over her head and sat her on the dryer.

“Riley,” Steven said suddenly pulling away, “Maybe we shouldn’t do this.”

“Stop now, I break every bone in your body so that you’ll never play hockey again,” she said as he attached his lips to hers again as she removed his shirt.

“Are you sure you want to do this?”

“Shut the fuck up,” Riley said standing up fumbling with Steven’s zipper of his jeans.

“I’m not going to lie, I’ve liked you for a while too but I never had the balls to say anything to Steve.”

“You talk too much,” Riley replied pushing Steven’s boxers down his legs.

“Oh God,” Steven gasped when Riley took his shaft in her mouth, “Oh my God!”

Steven looked down at Riley and dropped his head back in pleasure.

“Well, we know how to keep you quiet, don’t we.”

“Don’t stop, now, please?”

Riley continued to fulfill her promise of one stay, “Stammering his hammer,” and Steven pushed her away and locked his lips to hers. Her pants were on the floor in no time and Steven laid her back on the dryer and bent her knees back before he reached for his wallet in his pants and pulled out a condom. Rolling it over his length, he thrusted into Riley and she arched her back off the dryer as Steven pumped in and out of her.

“FUCK,” she screamed and Steven silenced her with a kiss.

“Damn it, Riley,” he hissed as she dug her nails into his back.

“STEVEN,” she moaned as her orgasm washed over her.

Steven groaned and soon he reached his own peak, picking Riley up from the dryer, he disposed of the condom and laid her on the floor. Climbing on top of her, he claimed her lips with his and they made out for what seemed like forever when the washer stopped.

Steven ran his fingers through Riley’s hair as he kissed her and she traced the hair on the back of his neck.

“Riley, Stammer, you home,” Steve’s voice called and both Riley and Steven jumped up.

“This never happened,” Riley said jumping up from the floor and immediately getting dressed.

Steven rolled his eyes and got dressed before going back to finishing his laundry.

“In here,” Steven called out from the laundry room.

“Wow, Steve, you’re home early,” Riley said looking at the clock on the wall as her brother came into the room.

“She’s in the car, I forgot my wallet and had to come back home before we got to the restaurant.”

“Just make her pay,” Steven joked and Riley glared at him.

“That’s why you don’t have a girlfriend,” Riley spat and Steven moved in closer and squeezed her arm without Steve noticing.

Steve rolled his eyes, “I’ll leave you two to the fighting, don’t wait up for me,” he winked as he walked out and shut the door.

“What the fuck was that for,” Steven asked rubbing his cheek where Riley had just slapped him.

“You’re just like all the other guys, Stamkos.”

Riley took one final look at him and walked out of the laundry room and up the stairs to her bedroom. Steven sighed as he put his clothes in the dryer and turned it on. Sitting on the stool and pulling out his iPhone, he pulled up a new text message and entered Riley’s number before he decided to delete it and forget about it.

“She wants you to go after her, idiot,”
the voice in his head told him and he let out another sigh before he stood up and walked out of the room.

Riley laid in bed thinking about what had just happened with Steven and she wasn’t proud of herself. Of course, she was far from being a virgin but she never slept with a guy without dating him.

She had thought Steven was different but in the end, he turned out to be a lying, no good, douche bag just like all of her other boyfriend were.

She heard a knock on her door and she ignored it, hoping that Steven would go away, “Riley,” he said.

“Go away!”

Steven shut the door behind him and sat down on the edge of the bed, “I think we need to talk.”

“There’s nothing to talk about, we fucked, and that’s it!”

“I like you a lot, Riley,” Steven admitted, “I know I shouldn’t have said something like that to Steve but come on, we know how he is. I was just joking around, I didn’t know that it would bother you. I’m sorry.”

“Sorry is not enough, Steven.”

“I know how you feel about me, Steve has said that you have been crushing on me since I was drafted. I just want you to admit it to me so I can approach this properly.”

“Approach what properly,” Riley said sitting up and facing him, “Are you approaching the fact that I hate this cockiness coming off of you right now?”

“You don’t get it do you, I’m not good at this shit, Riley. So, please, bear with me here?”

“Bear with you on what?”

“Let me take you out to dinner, I’m going to go home and shower. You get dressed and we’ll go on a date. I’m trying to ask you out, I like you a lot and I want to get to know you as someone more than just Steve’s little sister.”

“Fine, one chance is all you have but if you mess this up, please leave me alone,” Riley said giving in.

Steven smiled and gave her a kiss on the cheek for he left her room. Sighing to herself, she walked into her bathroom and started the shower.

Looking in the mirror, she noticed she had a bite mark on her collarbone but it could be covered up with a shirt.

After Riley had finished her shower, she folded Steven’s clothes for him and put them back in the luggage he had brought them in. Setting it against the wall by the door, she made sure everything in the house was shut off as she heard a car horn in the driveway. Looking out the window, she saw the black Mercedes and Steven heading up the steps wearing jeans and a black button down shirt.

“You clean up nicely, Stamkos,” Riley said as he handed her a bouquet of flowers.

“So do you, Downie,” he replied smiling while taking in her appearance. She was wearing a denim skirt and a pair of white tennis shoes with a pink halter top that hung low in the front of her chest.

Steven pulled into the beach causing Riley to look at him questioningly, “What are we doing here?”

“Don’t ask questions, okay?”

Climbing out of the car, Steven grabbed a blanket from the back and a basket and led Riley to a secluded spot under the docks.

“Wow, how often do you come out here?”

“Every time I need to clear my head when I feel like I don’t know myself anymore, I come here and everything just seems right. The crashing of the waves is kind of soothing,” Steven said smiling down at Riley.

She smiled back, finally settling down and Steven was relieved, “What’d you bring to eat?”

“I baked a frozen fettuccini pasta thing that I bought when I went grocery shopping a couple of nights ago.”

“Frozen or not, they’re really good. Steve and I buy them all of the time when we go shopping.”

“So, you’re not mad that I didn’t actually cook it.”

“Why would I be mad?”

“I don’t know, so how’s Trigonometry?”

“I can’t pass that damn class if my life depended on it,” Riley said spooning some of the pasta onto her plate.

“I can help you, if you’d like. It hasn’t been that long since I got out of school and I used to do pretty well in math.”

“You’re just trying to get me alone, aren’t you?”

“Is it working,” Steven laughed and Riley smiled.

Steven and Riley talked about their childhoods in Ontario and about Riley’s dad passing away when she was younger. Steven knew Riley since Steve was traded to Tampa from Philly but he never got a chance to really talk to her.

After the two of them finished dinner, they went for a walk along the beach and without thinking, Steven grabbed Riley’s hand and entwined his fingers with hers.

He suddenly froze expecting her to pull away but she looked down at their hands and kept walking.

“It’s getting late, I should get you home,” Steven said looking at his watch.

“I had a great time,” Riley said as they walked to the car.

“Me too, can we do this again?”

“I don’t see why not unless Vinny asks me out,” she joked.

“HA HA,” Steven smiled as they pulled in front of Steve’s.

“Text me,” Riley said getting out of the car heading towards the house. Steven watched her walk before he got out of the car and walked behind her to make sure she got there safely.

“You forgot something,” he said and she turned around confused.

“I’m pretty sure I grabbed every--,” she began but was cut off when Steven’s lips found hers.

“Goodnight Riley,” he said as he opened the door behind her.

“Goodnight Steven,” she whispered as he smiled and headed towards his car.

They both went out again the next night and agreed that Steve shouldn’t know about their relationship for the time being. Of course he knew they both liked each other but they didn’t know how he would act if he knew they were actually dating.

Riley snuck to Steven’s house to do homework when Steve was home since he knew Steven had offered to help her with math, he also didn’t know that there was a whole lot of extracurricular activity going on with this so called “homework.”

“I missed you,” Steven said to Riley as he entered the house she shared with Steve, “Two weeks on the road and not touching you is tough.”

“How tough is it?”

“Real tough,” he replied giving her a kiss.

Wheeling the luggage full of dirty laundry behind him down the hall, Steven started a load of laundry and smiled to himself as he recalled this room is the reason why he and Riley were together.

“What are you thinking about,” Riley asked coming into the room.

“I’m thinking about how much I want to do you on this dryer again.”

“Then why do we still have clothes on,” she said laughing and Steven picked her up and placed her on the dryer.

Steven had just entered Riley when the door of the laundry room flew open and Steve walked in.

“God damn it, Stamkos, you have your own house. Take your girlfriends there, not here. HOLY SHIT, RILEY, IS THAT YOU?”

Steven froze and immediately pulled out of Riley as they both shuffled around for their clothes.

“It’s not what it looks like,” they both tried to reason with Steve.

“Then please tell me why I just walked in on you nailing my baby sister,” Steve said angrily.

“We’ve been together for the past two months,” Steven admitted.

“I’m not going to stand here and make excuses for doing anything wrong because Steven and I are adults, Steve.”

“Well, it’s nice to know that dirty laundry wasn’t the only fucking thing you were doing when you came over here,” Steve replied ready to kill the both of them.

One thing for sure, the cat was out of the bag and both Steven and Riley were no longer playing it safe, there was no use in lighting a candle for good luck because they were caught doing more than just dirty laundry.
